HE
HAS RISEN!
HE
HAS RISEN INDEED!
Dear Heavenly Father,
That is Our PRAISE
For Today!
But Jesus Christ, Our Savior,
We Do Grieve That the
Torture & Sorrow
Which You Endured
On The Cross -
Was Necessary
To Save Humanity.
It Is Through - Your Word,
That We Know You
Do Not Want Us
To Be Enslaved Within
Fear!
Anxiety!
Or Even Sin!
And That Is WHY
You Sacrificed Yourself
Just So - LOVE Could Win.
It Is In LOVE,
YOUR TRUE LOVE!
It Was That Type Of LOVE
Which Hung Upon That Cross
And Gave Up
Everything,
Just So,
We Could Be Rescued!
“It Is Finished”
That Was Your Cry of Victory!
That Is Because - You Defeated – Everything!
EVERYTHING That Held
Us in Captivity!
It Is Because Of Your Sacrifice,
That NOW –
We Can Experience TRUE Intimacy
With You for For-Ever-More.
Thank You!
GOD – Please Show Us HOW -
HOW We Can Share
Your Type of LOVE - TODAY
TO EVERYONE,
And EVERY DAY!
Amen
Matthew 28:1a
“Now
after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week”
Mark 16:1-3
“Mary
Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they
might go and anoint Him. And very early on the first day of the week, when the
sun had risen, they went to the tomb. And they were saying to one another, “Who
will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?”
Matthew 28:2
“And
behold, there was a great earthquake for an angel of the Lord descended from
heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.”
Luke 24:3-8
“But
when they went in, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they
were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel.
And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said
to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here - but has
risen. Remember how He told you, while He was still in Galilee, that the Son of
Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the
third day rise.” And they remembered His words.”
Matthew 28:7
“Then
go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead, and behold,
He is going before you to Galilee; there you will see Him. See, I have told
you.”
Mark 16:8
“And
they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized
them, and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.”
Matthew 28:9-10
“And
behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of
His feet and worshiped Him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and
tell My brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”
Luke 24:11
“But
these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. But
Peter rose and ran to the tomb.
John 20:3b-10
“Both
of them were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached
the tomb first. And stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths
lying there, but he did not go in. Then Simon Peter came, following him, and
went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, and the face
cloth, which had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen cloths but
folded up in a place by itself. Then the other disciple, who had
reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as
yet they did not understand the Scripture, that He must rise from the
dead. Then the disciples went back to their homes.”
Matthew 28:11-15
“While
they were going, behold, some of the guards went into the city and told the
chief priests all that had taken place. And when they had assembled with the
elders and taken counsel, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers
and said, “Tell people, ‘His disciples came by night and stole Him away while
we were asleep.’ And if this comes to the governor's ears, we will satisfy him
and keep you out of trouble.” So, they took the money and did as they were
directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.”
Luke 24:13-35
“That
very day two of them were going to a village named Emmaus, about seven miles
from Jerusalem, and they were talking with each other about all these things
that had happened. While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus
Himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were kept from recognizing
Him.
And
He said to them, “What is this conversation that you are holding with each
other as you walk?” And they stood still, looking sad. Then one of them, named
Cleopas, answered Him, “Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know
the things that have happened there in these days?” And He said to them, “What
things?” And they said to Him, “Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, a man who was a
prophet mighty in deed and Word before God and all the people, and how our
chief priests and rulers delivered Him up to be condemned to death and
crucified Him. But we had hoped that He was the one to redeem Israel. Yes, and
besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.
Moreover,
some women of our company amazed us. They were at the tomb early in the
morning, and when they did not find His body, they came back saying that they
had even seen a vision of angels, who said that He was alive. Some of those who
were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but Him
they did not see.”
And
He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the
prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these
things and enter into His Glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the
Prophets, He interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning
Himself.
So,
they drew near to the village to which they were going. He acted as if He were
going farther, but they urged Him strongly, saying, “Stay with us, for it is
toward evening and the day is now far spent.” So, He went in to stay with them.
When He was at table with them, He took the bread and blessed and broke it and
gave it to them. And their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him. And He
vanished from their sight. They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn
within us while He talked to us on the road, while He opened to us the
Scriptures?”
And
they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven
and those who were with them gathered together, saying, “The Lord has risen
indeed, and has appeared to Simon!” Then they told what had happened on the
road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of the bread.”
Mark 16:14-15
“Afterward
He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and He
rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not
believed those who saw Him after He had risen.”
Luke 24:36-49
“As
they were talking about these things, Jesus Himself stood among them, and said
to them, “Peace to you!” But they were startled and frightened and thought they
saw a spirit. And He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts
arise in your hearts? See My Hands and My Feet, that it is I Myself. Touch Me
and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”
And when He had said this, He showed them His Hands and His Feet. And while
they still disbelieved for joy and were marveling, He said to them, “Have you
anything here to eat?” They gave Him a piece of broiled fish, and He took it
and ate before them.”
Then
He said to them, “These are My Words that I spoke to you while I was still with
you, that everything written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and
the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then He opened their minds to understand the
Scriptures, and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should
suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the
forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His Name to all nations, beginning
from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I am sending the
promise of My Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with Power
from on High.”’
John 20:24-29
Now
Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. So,
the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them,
“Unless I see in His Hands the mark of the nails and place my finger into the
mark of the nails, and place my hand into His Side, I will never believe.”
Eight
days later, His disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although
the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with
you.” Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see My Hands; and put
out your hand and place it in My Side. Do not disbelieve but believe.” Thomas
answered Him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you believed
because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have
believed.”
Matthew 28:16-20
18
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been
given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching
them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you
always, to the end of the age.”
Mark 16:15
“And
He said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the Gospel to the whole
creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not
believe will be condemned.
So,
then the Lord Jesus, after He had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and
sat down at the Right Hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere,
while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying
signs.”
The Top 5 Reasons Why We Do Not Do (Whatever)!
5) We Do Not Know That There
IS Something to Do!
4) We Do Not Know
HOW To Do It!
3) We Are Convinced It Will Not Work,
SO, We Do Not Even Try!
2) We Do Not Know How
BECAUSE We Are Scared of Failure!
And The #1 Reason WHY WE DO – NOT - DO Is:
1)
We Do Not Think It Will Work
BECAUSE We Are Doing It Alone!
FOR Today - I Would Like for Us
To Go Once Again
And Take
a NEW Look At
The
Book of Matthew,
Right
Where Darrell
Had
Left Off.
That Would Be Matthew 28:16-20
Matthew 28:16-20
“And Jesus came and said to them,
“All authority in heaven and on earth
Has
been given to Me.
Go therefore
And make disciples of all nations,
Baptizing them in the Name of the Father
And of the Son
And of the Holy Spirit,
Teaching Them
To observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold,
I am with you always, to the end of the age.”’
When we study any type of writing,
But For Sure - the Scriptures,
What is one of the First Thing
Which we should Always Do?
That is – Of Course
We Should ALWAYS Read it FIRST?
Then Pray Over It!
READING IS ALWAYS the First
Then PRAYER is
Second
Then What Could Be
Our Next Step?
Could It Be –
To Take a NEW - GOOD LOOK at It.
So, WHAT DO YOU SEE - Within This
Scripture?
Do You Notice All of
the “ALL”s
And the applied “ALL”s?
All Authority in
Heaven
and on Earth Has Been
Given to Me.
So How Do We Know
that Jesus Has
That Type of AUTHORITY?
Ephesians 1:21 (Paul)
“Now he is far above
any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this
world but also in the world to come.”
Matthew 11:27
“My Father has
entrusted everything to Me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and
no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses
to reveal Him.”
Philippians 2:9-11
Therefore, God
elevated Him (Jesus) to the place of Highest Honor and gave Him the Name above
all other names,
That at the Name of
Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
And every tongue
declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the Glory of God the Father.
So – What Are We to Do
- Do?
GO?
BUT WHERE Are WE To “GO”
AND GO BUT - Do What?
“And MAKE disciples”
(TO Teach)
BUT TO Whom Are We To
Teach?
“Of All Nations”
And Our Directive
Continues On –
BUT - Doing What?
“Baptizing Them”
Baptizing Who?
“ALL”
We Are Not to Select WHO – But ALL!
God Does the Selecting.
His Spirit Does the Leading.
We Just GO!
But Who Gets the Credit?
“In the Name of the Father
And the Son
And the Holy Spirit”
And Here Is When
Jesus Breaks It All Down
For Us -
Explaining Exactly
What We-Are-To-Do.
“TEACH THEM”
BUT – Teach WHO?
“(An Applied – ALL)”
ALL OF THEM!
And Jesus Still Continues
To Break It Down into
Even Smaller Blocks
Showing us of ‘THE HOW’ –
HOW Are We to Teach
Teaching Them to Do WHAT?
“TO OBSERVE”
The 1828 Webster
Dictionary Describes
The Verb ‘OBSERVE’ as:
·
To See.
·
Or Behold with some
attention.
·
To Notice.
o Such as:
‘To observe a halo
round the moon’
So, ‘WHO’ are these Young Disciples Supposed to Notice?
Well Silly -
‘They are to NOTCE – ‘YOU’
But ‘What are THEY
SUPPOSED TO BE
WATCHING
YOU DO?’
YOU DOING
“ALL That CHRIST Has COMMANDED YOU to DO.”
And then we have this
FUNNY - Word.
“BEHOLD”
Behold Means:
To ‘See’
Or To ‘Observe’
And This is - For YOU
For ‘YOU - To See’
AND
For ‘YOU - To Observe’
‘I am with you ALWAYS.’
But Who Is the “I” in this case?
Yes.
It Is Jesus Christ!
Jesus Christ Will Be with You
It Is Not only on Sundays
NOR Is It ONLY on the Weekends
And it Doesn’t Even Mean DURING
The Weekdays from 8 to 5
NO –
But It Says
ALWAYS
So, Which of the
Following
Gives Us Those Good Reasons:
TO - NOT GO?
TO – NOT - LIVE OUR LIVES
AS JESUS LIVED HIS?
Which of These Can We Claim
That REMOVES US FROM
The Responsibility
Of TEACHING THE OTHERS!
Which Removes Us from Acting
So, It Is Not of Us - Whom
They Should Learn From
ON How They Should Live Their Own Lives?
What Gives Us Our Excuses
So, We Can Be Excused From -
So That We Are Not Bothered By - THEM?
WHERE CAN WE GO
To Escape from The Responsibility
Of Baptizing THEM
In the Name of the Father
The Son
And the Holy Spirit?
Can We Say That We
Do Not Know
That There IS Something to Do!
I THINK NOT!
Can We Claim That
We Do Not Know
HOW To Do It!
I THINK NOT!
Can We Claim That
We Are Convinced - That It Will Not Work,
SO, We Do Have to Even Try!
I THINK NOT!
OH – BUT –
We Do Not Know EVEN How
BECAUSE We Are
So Scared of Failure!
I THINK NOT!
BUT - We KNOW IT WON’T WORK
BECAUSE
We Are Doing It – ALL ALONE!
No –
There Is Not Even One Excuse,
For Us to NOT DO
Exactly - What Christ Has
Commanded Us
TO DO!
Jesus said –
“I am the Living
Bread that came down from heaven.
Whoever Eats This
Bread Will Live Forever.
This Bread Is My Flesh,
Which I Will Give for
The Life of The World.”
We are Soon Going to
Celebrate
Within The Lord’s
Supper.
You Do Not Need to Be
of
The Wesleyan Faith to
Share in His Supper
But We do Ask that
You
Prepare Yourself
Within Quiet Meditation
Silently Considering
And Confessing of Your Own Sins
As Well As Forgiving
All Others.
The Ushers Are
Distributing the Elements to You
But Please Hold on to Them –
So That
We All Can Partake in the Lord’s
Supper Together.
“For I Received from The Lord
That Which I Also Delivered to You,
That The Lord Jesus
In The Night in Which He Was Betrayed
He Took the Bread
And After He Had Given Thanks and Praise,
He Broke It and Said:
This Is My Body
Which Is for You
Do This in Remembrance of Me
In The Same Way, At the End of The Supper,
He Took the Cup
Giving Thanks and Praise - He Said:
This Cup Is My Blood.
The Blood of The New and Ever Living
Covenant
Do This, In Remembrance of Me.
For As Often As
You Eat This Bread
And Drink the Cup,
You Are Proclaiming
The Death and Resurrection of The Lord Jesus.
He Has Risen – He Has Risen Indeed!
